Welcome to my speech sounds, oral language and literacy blog! My name is Carol:- I’m a speech and language pathologist working in the field for almost 30 years! I’ve had the opportunity and privilege to work with many individuals throughout these past years. I’ve learned so much from my students, clients, patients, caregivers, parents, and spouses and I hope that I’ve done my part to encourage, empower and grow their knowledge when it comes to communication skills. I’m currently working with PreK to 1st grade students. Working with this particular population sparked an interest that has infused so much joy into my professional life: becoming a children’s book author, which led me to becoming a content creator (ie..blogger). So welcome!!
The Sprouters Blog is a place where I hope to do the following:- grow your knowledge in how to best facilitate your child’s communication as it relates to: speech sounds, oral language and literacy development. Sprouting means: “to grow, to sprint up”. That’s my hope for your child. So let’s get to “sprouting”.
